Bio

I am a musician by background although throughout my career, my work has spanned music, photography, film, writing and installation. After a degree in music and religious studies, and doctoral study in music, I have woven in and out of professional practice, research, teaching, and more recently, university leadership.

I've been employed in higher education throughout my adult life so that environment has been a significant influence on my creative work.  It's an influence that has blurred the distinction between practice, research, and teaching, and between the mediums I work in. I'm grateful for it.

For over a decade, I've collaborated with architect Frances Crow in liminal, a studio that has in one way or another explored the relationship between sound, space and listening.

I've also consistently collaborated with other artists and musicians, often as a composer, sound engineer or producer. Some of the fruits of this are represented here.

I am Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Knowledge Exchange at Falmouth university.
